  12.          For proper operation all above .KJV files must be resident on        /
  13.          the current directory of the hard disk along with GEN.EXE            /
  14.          ( If you must run from floppy disk it is the operator's              /
  15.            responsibility to insert the proper disk at the proper             /
  16.            time, not an enjoyable task.)                                      /
  17.                                                                               /
  18.         Installation:                                                         /
  19.             Insert disk #1, type and enter "A:" if not on A:.                 /
  20.             Type and enter "install".                                         /
  21.             Insert the remaining disks as instructed on the monitor.          /
  22.             The install program creates a directory "GEN" and installs        /
  23.             the required files on that directory of the hard disk.            /
  24.                                                                               /
  25.         To install from GENAID.ZIP file                                       /
  26.                                                                               /
  27.         At prompt C> (type)   md gen  (enter) to create new GEN directory.    /
  28.                             Insert disk in drive A:                           /
  29.             At C> prompt (type) copy a:genaid.zip c:\gen  (enter)             /
  30.             At C> prompt (type) copy a:pkunzip.exe c:\gen (enter)             /
  31.             At C> prompt (type) cd gen (enter)  to go to GEN directory.       /
  32.             At C> prompt (type) pkunzip genaid.zip (enter) to unpack GENAID.  /
  33.                       Each file will be listed as it is unpacked.             /
  34.             At C> prompt (type) help  (enter)  to read HELP file.             /
  35.                                                                               /
  36.         Help:                                                                 /
  37.             Type and enter "help" to review this HELP FILE or                 /
  38.             use INS key when running GEN.EXE.                                 /
  39.                                                                               /
  40.         Running:                                                              /
  41.             When in the "GEN" directory type and enter "gen".                 /
  42.             If not in the "gen" directory and in the main directory           /
  43.             type and enter "cd gen".  If in a sub directory type and          /
  44.             enter "cd\" followed by "cd gen" to enter GEN directory.          /
  45.                                                                               /
  46.         KEY FUNCTIONS:                                                        /
  47.               ( If using the mouse select the functions by positioning        /
  48.                 the mouse cursor on the function on the monitor and           /
  49.                 press a mouse button.)                                        /

  51.             F1 = R & SREF:   Displays the King James text of Genesis          /
  52.                 in the left window and parallel King James Ver scriptures     /
  53.                 in the right window.                                          /
  54.                                                                               /
  55.             F2 = R & KEYW:   Displays the King James text of Genesis          /
  56.                 in the left window and key words in the right window.         /
  57.                                                                               /
  58.             F3 = R & CMTS;   Displays the King James text of Genesis          /
  59.                 in the left window and some comments in the right window.     /
  60.                                                                               /
  61.             F4 = R & YOUR CMTS:  Displays the King James text of              /
  62.                 Genesis in the left window and user added comments            /
  63.                 in the right window.                                          /
  64.                                                                               /
  65.             F5 = NEW CHAP:   Prompts the user for a new chapter number.       /
  66.                 Type and enter the chapter number ( example  "11"  ) and      /
  67.                 the new chapter file will be substituted for the existing     /
  68.                 chapter and displayed at home position.                       /
  69.                                                                               /
  70.             F6 = ADD COMMENTS:  Allows the user to add comments to the file.  /
  71.                 Move cursor to desired lcation in right window and type       /
  72.                 text to be entered as comments.  Word wrap is provided,       /
  73.                 but the enter key may be used as desired for a line           /
  74.                 return.  Corrections are made by moving the cursor to the     /
  75.                 error and typing over the error. (There is no single          /
  76.                 letter insert function.)                                      /
  77.                       UP-arrow:  Moves cursor up and moves up a line when     /
  78.                                 the top of the window is exceeded.            /
  79.                       DOWN-arrow: Moves cursor down and moves down a line     /
  80.                                 when the bottom of the window is exceeded.    /
  81.                       LEFT-arrow:  Moves the cursor to the left.              /
  82.                       RIGHT-arrow: Moves the cursor to the right.             /
  83.                       HOME:  Displays the top of the file.                    /
  84.                       End:   Displays the bottom of the file.                 /
  85.                       PG-UP:  Moves the display up one page.                  /
  86.                       PG-DN:  Moves the display down one page.                /
  87.                       INS:    Saves the added comments in the file.           /
  88.                                                                               /
  89.                                     WARNING!!                                 /
  90.                       If INS key is not used before the DEL key the           /
  91.                       added comments will not be saved!!                      /
  92.                                     WARNING!!                                 /
  93.                                                                               /
  94.                       DEL:   Erases the lower window and returns to the       /
  95.                              full display.                                    /
  96.                                                                               /
  97.                                 LINE EDIT FUNCTIONS                           /
  98.                                                                               /
  99.                       F1 = SAVE L: Copy the line that the cursor is on.       /
  100.                       F2 = DELETE L: Delete line that the cursor is on.       /
  101.                       F3 = PRINT L: Print the saved/deleted line on the       /
  102.                                     line that the cursor is on, prints        /
  103.                                     over anything on that line.               /
  104.                       F4 = INSERT L: Inserts the saved/deleted line           /
  105.                                      where the cursor is and moves all        /
  106.                                      lines below one line down.               /
  107.                                      Last line of your comments can           /
  108.                                      can be lost if on last line of           /
  109.                                      alloted comments area in memory.         /
  110.                       Ctrl-F3 = REPEAT PRINT L: You can copy a block of       /
  111.                                      lines by repeatedly pressing             /
  112.                                      Ctrl-F3. It will over print.             /
  113.                       Ctrl-F4 = REPEAT INSERT L: You can move a block         /
  114.                                      of lines by repeatedly pressing          /
  115.                                      Ctrl-F4. Comments at the end of          /
  116.                                      the alloted comment area will be         /
  117.                                      lost.                                    /
  118.                                                                               /
  119.             F7 = SEARCH:       Searches the current chapter file for user     /
  120.                 supplied key word or phrase.  Type and enter the desired      /
  121.                 word ( example "wife" ) and the first occurance will be       /
  122.                 located and highlighted in capital letters.                   /
  123.                       PG-UP key continues search above present position.      /
  124.                       PG-DN key continues search below present position.      /
  125.                       DEL key ends search action and returns to display.      /
  126.                       (prompts are displayed on monitor lines 24 and 25)      /
  127.                                                                               /
  128.             F8 = REFERENCES:  Opens a new window in the lower half of the     /
  129.                 monitor screen and displays the parallel Scripture            /
  130.                 references grouped by Biblical chapter.                       /
  131.                       UP-arrow:  Moves cursor up and moves up a line when     /
  132.                                  the top of the window is exceeded.           /
  133.                       DOWN-arrow:  Moves cursor down and moves down a line    /
  134.                                   when the bottom of the window is exceeded.  /
  135.                       LEFT-arrow:   Moves the cursor to the left.             /
  136.                       RIGHT-arrow:  Moves the cursor to the right.            /
  137.                       HOME:   Displays the top of the reference file.         /
  138.                       END:    Displays the bottom of the reference file.      /
  139.                       PG-UP:  Moves the display up one page.                  /
  140.                       PG-DN:  Moves the display down one page.                /
  141.                       DEL:    Erases the lower window and returns to the      /
  142.                               full display.                                   /
  143.                       F10:    Prompts the user for the number of lines        /
  144.                               desired to be printed.  Type and enter a        /
  145.                               number of lines.  (example  "24" )              /
  146.                               Type and enter 0 for no lines.                  /
  147.                                                                               /
  148.             F9 = CONCORDANCE:  Opens a new window in the lower half of        /
  149.                 the monitor screen and displays the occurances of the         /
  150.                 word of interest in the Genesis.   The transliterated         /
  151.                 Hebrew word is provided and other possible translations.      /
  152.                 (The concordance is abridged with trivial words omitted.)     /
  153.                 Type and enter the desired word.  ( example "wife" )          /
  154.                       UP-arrow:  Moves cursor up and moves up a line when     /
  155.                                  the top of the window is exceeded.           /
  156.                       DOWN-arrow:  Moves cursor down and moves down a line    /
  157.                                  when the bottom of the window is exceeded.   /
  158.                       LEFT-arrow:  Moves the cursor to the left.              /
  159.                       RIGHT-arrow:  Moves the cursor to the right.            /
  160.                       HOME:   Displays the top of the concordance file.       /
  161.                       END:    Displays the bottom of the concordance file.    /
  162.                       PG-UP:  Moves the display up one page.                  /
  163.                       PG-DN:  Moves the display down one page.                /
  164.                       DEL:    Erases the lower window and returns to the      /
  165.                               full display.                                   /
  166.                       F10:    Prompts the user for the number of lines        /
  167.                               desired to be printed.  Type and enter a        /
  168.                               number of lines.  (example  "24" )              /
  169.                                                                               /
  170.             F10 = PRINT:  Prompts the user for the number of lines of         /
  171.                 the main display to print.  Type and enter the desired        /
  172.                 number of lines to print.  (  example  "24" )                 /

  174.             UP-arrow:   Moves cursor up and moves up a line when the top      /
  175.                  of the window is exceeded.                                   /

  209.             DEL:  Closes the window, terminates the program and returns       /
